Awesome to see Dr LaHood’s article about the latest trends in cataract surgery for 2025 being read in Paris. Although this article for Clinique de la Vision took about three months to write its much quicker to read! Thank you to the team for inviting me to contribute.

This is a really interesting and detailed look at:
1️⃣ New IOLs including the Galaxy multifocal from @rayner.global as well as the Gemetric multifocal IOL with variations of light distribution from @hoyalensaustralia and the PureSee EDOF from @johnson_and_johnson
2️⃣ New phaco machines including the @alconlife Unity which will replace the Centurion workhorse; the @zeissgroup Quatera; and the @rayner.global Sophi phaco machine.
3️⃣ Sustainability in cataract surgery and the efforts many societies including EyeSustain lead by David Chang and especially efforts from Young Ophthalmologist Sjoerd Elferink making in this space to raise awareness.
